Overview of the Project (5 parts)
1
Problem Statement
Many residents all over Uganda face with the struggle of dealing with diabetes on a daily basis. Due to limited resources that hospitals have and the country being so multilingual speaking over 70 different languages, it's difficult for doctors to verbally explain how to maintain their glucose levels in each language.

2
Goals
Main Project Goal
Create visuals for residents so they can be taught universally instead of explaining in each individual language.
Struggles Experienced:
-
Learning the culture
-
Providing minimal information for doctors and residents to understand
-
Explaining particular emotions through visuals
3
Design Process
This project went through many iterations as our team learned more and more about the culture of the country. The things known here in America don't always translate to the same things in Uganda (such as the food eaten, activities done, health knowledge). To fix this, visuals were created in a particular way to explain things in terms that anyone in Uganda could understand without having to use particular cultural things.

4
Conclusion
Overall, this app was designed to help improve the communication between doctors and patients to help save more lives. It's currently being developed and reviewed by medical students at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria with the goal of publishing it to all tablet devices in Uganda.
